In 1946, W.E. “Bill” Watt founded P&E, becoming its first president. In 1964, he retired, and R. H. Farnham bought the company, becoming its second president. In 1974, with his semi –retirement, his son Art became president, remaining so until mid-2003.
John C. Wadsworth then became only the fourth president in the company’s sixty years, a position he continues to hold. A graduate of Wichita South High School, John attended Wichita State University where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He has worked for Litwin Engineers in Wichita and Houston as Chief Instrument and Controls Engineer. At Koch Industries, his career included responsibilities in business management, operations, project management, engineering and construction management, international operations, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital.
"I respect the reputation of P&E, for providing high quality and safe work for customers throughout the Midwest,” John explained in 2003, when he took over the company. “I want to build on that reputation and make the company grow.” What did Wadsworth know of P&E’s reputation? “I knew that they had fabricated things in some of the different areas that I have worked,” he explained. “The reputation that I was aware of is for high quality work and speed.”
